Have you ever heard of the saying Carpe Diem?
Please comment a thumbs up in the comments down below if you have.
Carpe Diem is a bold, activating statement which encourages us to make the most out of each moment, empowering us to channel the power of now and be present.
What comes to mind when you think of seizing the moment and making the most of the current moment that you're in?
Please comment down below and let's have a chat in the comment section.
When I think of seizing the moment, I think of release, being receptive and at ease, leaning into experiences and allowing spiritual encounters to exalt and liberate me.
Ooh, today's weekly challenge will help you to Carpe Diem it.
Seize the moment and be even more grateful for what you have at your disposal.
Are you ready?
Please say yes.
[Monday] Breathe
Breathwork is always available to you. It's calming, free and good for your health.
Generally, when we isolate our focus on breathing, we access a different part of our mind. We activate an unmatched calmness, we lean into flow and inadvertently channel the power of now. Intentional breathing encourages breath work, meditation, visualization, and prayer.
So please join me as we calm our minds and indulge in some breath work.
If you're seated, sit with your hands in your lap.
If you're laying down, please lay flat on your back with your arms to the sides of your body if you're able.
Gently lighten your gaze and close your eyes.
Take a deep breath, inhaling for four to five seconds. And exhale gently for four to five seconds also. Inhale for one, two, three, four, five, and exhale for one, two, three, four, five.
As you inhale deeply and exhale gently, focus on your breathing. Embrace the moment of stillness and feel each breath.
As you continue to inhale deeply and exhale gently, breathe for at least 60 more seconds, counting each inhalation and exhalation for one, two, three, four, five. Release any thoughts that surface and continue focusing on your breathing in each breath.
Allow calmness to envelope you. Focus on being grateful for this present moment of flow, stillness, presence and visualization.
Before opening your eyes if and when you're ready, thank your mind, body and spirit for their loyalty.
Breathe whenever you're taken away from being present. Even if it's for five seconds. the beautiful thing is you can breathe, calm your mind and channel the power of now when you're around other people also.
Not all breath work requires you to close your eyes and be seated or laying down. You have the option to breathe in place. Think back to a time when you may have been having a challenging conversation or you may have received some tough news or even exciting news and you needed to compose yourself.
What did you do?
I can assure you and maybe even guarantee that whether knowingly or unknowingly, you breathed.
So indulge in breathing and breath work.
[Tuesday] Channel your senses
There are a variety of senses that we have available to us.
The most common senses are sight, smell, sound, taste and touch.
Today it's our duty to embrace each of the senses that we have available to us. For instance, if we are observing something, let's do more than just glance. Let's find the beauty in what we're looking at and view it with curiosity and admiration.
Maybe it's a bird in the tree.
The other day, I spent about 15 minutes watching a doe grooming her fawn. It was one of the sweetest experiences that I had experienced that day. The visuals captivated me and took me away from washing the plates.
I am so happy that I fully indulged and seized that moment. It brought me pure joy and feelings of unconditional love.
Fully immerse yourself in the senses today and maybe even document what you felt, heard, saw, smelt and tasted.
[Wednesday] Say "yes"
Every day we are presented with so many choices, options and opportunities. Choose you and say yes to the experiences and opportunities that will bring joy and value to your life.
Maybe a friend rings you and ask you to join them on a hike or grab a bite to eat. Although these options may not have been on your agenda, you've decided now to seize the moment. See where the experience takes you and fully enjoy and indulge. Be grateful.
[Thursday] Create a gratitude list
Every hour on the hour, write down at least one thing that you're thankful for.
Let's be consistent and set an alarm that reads, I AM GRATEFUL FOR... AND I WILL...
For example, right now, I AM GRATEFUL FOR... the ability to access the five senses AND I WILL... be committed to honoring and creating experiences with each of these senses in mind.
[Friday] Create and go with the flow
Indulge in an activity, hobby or a new experience or an experience that you enjoy where time stands still. Free your day to do whatever comes to mind void of time constraints.
[Saturday] Disconnect, go device free
Have some well-deserved and well-earned you time. Turn off your interactive devices and dedicate at least one hour of undisturbed time to yourself. If you're up for the challenge, spend the entire day device-free and take the day as it comes.
If you're able, try to incorporate a device-free day at least once a week or whenever you need to declutter your mind, lean into flow or create. Feel free to tune into the seven steps to inner peace unleashing the power of solitude I'll put the card somewhere up there.
[Sunday] Reflect and Journal
Create a Carpe Diem Journal and start to recognize each time that you honor the power of now and seize the moment. Feel free to relive each moment in every entry.
To enhance this experience, you have the option of voice recording your thoughts once you've indulged in the experience or when you are actually indulging in the experience.
This way, you'll be able to capture and savor the feeling of the moment and replay your joy whenever you need a boost.
Say it with me!
I AM... So happy and grateful that I'm seizing the moment AND I WILL... Continue being present and channeling the power of now!
