How are you doing? How are you feeling?
Please say that you're feeling CREATIVE, LIMITLESS, and UNSTOPPABLE!
About a year ago, I was heading out of town for the weekend and I forgot to bring a book. Can you believe it?
I headed into the closest bookshop and I meandered through the shelves to find a good read and I stumbled upon a subtle yet captivating cover.
I'd seen the book before and I'd glossed over it but this time it was calling my name screaming, "Sherrise, Sherrise."
I grabbed it and a few others so it's safe to say that I have little resistance or restraint when it comes to books but, I digress because that's a story for another day.
Anyway, I left with this amazing read.
The Creative Act, A Way of Being by Rick Rubin, a definite game changer and a beautiful addition to the learning center. if you're creative, you'll feel seen, heard and understood.
If you're intrigued by creatives and their process, you'll learn something extremely insightful and if you thought creativity was exclusively reserved for the arts, you'll be thoroughly surprised to know that you're a creative too.
Creativity is defined as the use of our imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of artistic work.
However, when we are creating, we are turning an idea and or a thought into a reality, irrelative of whether it is in an artistic way.
The book begins with a quote by Robert Henri, which reads, "The object isn't to make art, it's to be in that wonderful state, which makes art inevitable."
We touched upon a similar state last week, the flow state, which welcomes creativity at an unmatched rate. in The Creative Act,
Rick Rubin shares 78 areas of thoughts in relations to creativity and I feel so compelled to encourage you to create limitlessly and contribute generously to the world through your purpose.
Each of these beautiful episodes on Sincerely, Sherrise™ are aimed at getting you closer to your truest and most authentic self. All while you actively participate in your life with pure enjoyment, self -actualization, and the understanding of who you are at your core. Helping you to love and understand yourself from the INSIDEOUT
Today, I am here to plant positive seeds of creativity in your life and I will nurture those seeds as you water them.
According to Rick Rubin, everyone is a creator.
Those who do not engage in traditional arts might be wary of calling themselves artists. They might perceive creativity as something extraordinary or beyond their capabilities. A calling for the special few who are born with these gifts. Fortunately, this is not the case.
Creativity is not a rare ability. It is not difficult to access. Creativity is a fundamental aspect of being human. It's our birthright and it's for all of us.
Creativity doesn't exclusively relate to making art. We all engage in this act on a daily basis to create is to bring something into existence that wasn't there before. It could be a conversation, the solution to a problem, a note to a friend, the rearrangement of furniture in a room, a new route home to avoid traffic jam. What you make doesn't have to be witnessed, recorded, sold, or encased in glass for it to be a work of art through the ordinary state of being we're already creators in the most profound way creating our experience of reality and composing the world we perceive.
How beautiful? How beautiful?
Tell me that you feel seen, heard and understood because Rick, you got something here with this one. You have got something here with this one.
Please comment down below something that you've created lately.
Now let's do a quick recap.
In the past month or two, we have dived deeper and deeper into our introspective and personal development journeys:
Silencing the noise
Leaning into the power of now
Exploring our purpose and desires
as well as our Goals.
We have:
Reshaped our thoughts regarding TIME - The Infinite, Meaningful and or Memorable Experiences that we have at our disposal
We have created:
Routines that align with our goals and desires.
We've learned how to:
Activate and generate our energy
We have got:
SMART about our goals and desires that is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound
We have been:
Manifesting and affirming our desires
We've also:
Followed One Course Until Successful
We are learning to:
FOCUS
We've cultivated the FLOW state.
And honestly, we are in great company with Rick Rubin today because being in creative flow is so beautiful.
We are now authoring the story of our lives in a true, authentic and organic way. being able to create our experience of reality and compose the world we perceive is a beautiful and achievable thing.
There's so much more purpose attached to such a mission and the action steps we'll take to get there will be fueled by intention, drive and burning desires.
Ooh.
There are so many people and elements or forces alike out there that take us away from what we are called to do, especially when we are distracted and aren't rooted as we'd like to be in our purpose.
Which is why we must be reminded constantly and consistently of the goals, desires, missions, and visions that we have set for ourselves and focus, meditate, visualize, and pray while consistently working towards the actualization of our desired lives.
I am here today pleading with you to silence the noise, eliminate distractions, the naysayers and any negative vibes that come your way.
Encouraging you to cultivate a positive mindset, activate your energy for personal success, stay true to who you are at your core and be authentically you while creating without limits and investing in your health, mental well -being, your mind, your mindset, your knowledge, your inner knowing and personal development on a daily and consistent basis.
Also, please remember to be kind to yourself during this process. Give yourself some grace and reward yourself when you accomplish your goals, whether big or small.

Today's weekly challenge is inspired by The Creative Act, Rick Rubin's book that I showed you earlier.
I'll be sharing some of the motivational and punchy quotes to get you inspired and activated to create without limits and better yet create limitlessly and harness your inner creative.
Are you ready? Please say yes.
[Monday] Practice your craft
Learn and cultivate a new skill and lean into flow.
Are you ready?
Let's go!
In the wild, animals must narrow their field of vision to survive. A tight focus prevents distractions from critical needs. Food, shelter, predators, procreation. And for the artist, this reflexive action can be a hindrance.
Widening one's scope allows for more moments of interest to be noticed and collected, building a treasury of material to draw from later. A practice is the embodiment of an approach to a concept.
This can help us in bringing about a desired state of mind. When we repeat the exercise of opening our senses to what is, we move closer to living in a continually open state.
We build a habit, one, where expanded awareness is our default way of being in the world. To deepen this practice is to embark on a more profound relationship with source.
As we reduce the interference of our filter, we become better able to recognize the rhythms and movements around us. This allows us to participate with them in a more harmonious way.
When we take notice of the cycles of the planet and choose to live in accordance with its seasons, something remarkable happens. We become connected.
Rick Rubin continues to say that, we tend to think of an artist's work as the output. The real work of the artist is a way of being in the world. So please enjoy your creative time. Be in the world.
[Tuesday] Look inward
If we focus on what's going on inside ourselves, sensations, emotions, the patterns of our thoughts, a wealth of material can be found. Our inner world is every bit as interesting, beautiful and surprising as nature itself. It is after all, born of nature.
When we go inside, we are processing what's going on outside.
[Wednesday] Be still and reflect
There's an abundant reservoir of high quality information in our subconscious and finding ways to access it can spark new material to draw from.
Let's indulge in some breath work and calm our minds.
If you're seated, sit with your hands in your lap.
If you're laying down, lay flat on your back with your arms to the sides of your body if you're able.
Gently lighten your gaze and close your eyes.
Take a deep breath. Inhale deeply for four to five seconds.
And exhale gently for four to five seconds also.
Inhale for one, two, three, four, five.
And exhale for one, two, three, four, five.
As you inhale deeply, and exhale gently.
Visualize accessing new creations and ideas.
Let's concentrate on the reservoir of high quality information in our subconscious.
As you continue to inhale deeply and exhale gently.
Channel the feeling of creating limitlessly.
Inhale for one, two, three, four, five.
And exhale for one, two, three, four, five.
As you inhale deeply, welcome the creation of new ideas into your life.
And as you exhale, gently release anything or anyone that takes you away from being the creative and innovative person you were made to be.
Continue inhaling deeply.
And exhaling gently.
Focus your efforts on being in creative flow, indulging in activities that bring life to the creations that you have accessed. Being joyous, happy and living the life of your creative limitlessness today.
Be present in this moment and every moment that follows.
Be grateful for this moment of stillness, presence and visualization.
Before opening your eyes, if and when you're ready, thank your mind, body and spirit for their loyalty.
[Thursday] Stay true to yourself
There's no wrong way. There is only your way, according to Rick Rubin.
So yes, it's time to lean into your authenticity and chart your own path starting today.
[Friday] Disengage/Disconnect
Sometimes disengaging is the best way to engage as quoted from Rick Rubin,
I'm just going to drop the mic because that was very powerful.
But Rick Rubin continues to say, perhaps this process of non-thinking thought allows us to access a different part of our brain. One that can see more angles than the direct path. Distraction is not procrastination.
Procrastination consistently undermines our ability to make things. Distraction is a strategy in service of the work.
I mean, I mean, what is Rick doing to us today?
I am praying that you are feeling this and that you're resonating with these amazing and profound and prophetic words from Rick Rubin. They are just so very special and they mean so much and they're so tender and great for the lack of words I have, but I'm here.
I'm feeling blessed and grateful that I get to share these words with you and to enjoy this moment with you as these words resonate even deeper than they did the first time I read them.
[Saturday] Collaborate
Ooh!
The more we pay attention, the more we begin to realize that all the work we ever do is a collaboration.
Again, Rick Rubin, he's coming with the gems.
This reminds me of a meal, maybe we have decided to have a solo date and cook a hearty meal.
Although we're eating by ourselves, we have had a considerable amount of help from those who have harvested the produce to those in the farm and the grocery stores that have placed the items out and others who have made or helped to make the pots, pans, plates, cutlery, etc.
The more awareness we have, the more broader our vision becomes and our reality also expands.
Rick Rubin further explains that the purpose of the work is to awaken something in you first and then allow something to be awakened in others. So go ahead, do that thing.
[Sunday] Be intentional
I'll leave you with this question that stimulated my thoughts when I initially read this beautiful piece of literature.
If the work doesn't represent who you are and what you're living, how can it hold an energetic charge?
I'm gonna leave you with that question.
Please answer it honestly and create a journal entry to really dive in.
You don't have to share your responses, but definitely think about what that question means to you and the answers that surface.
Say it with me:
I AM... Welcoming creative flow into my life AND I WILL... Practice my craft, look inwardly, be still and reflect staying true to myself, disengaging, collaborating, and being intentional.
