BEHIND THE SCENES: Creative Directing my First Lifestyle Photoshoot—SISM Fashion Take’s Over New York’s Iconic 5 Pointz (in LIC)

I devised a plan and decided to use the halls (of college) as my runway. I would customize clothes and design pieces that I could wear when I was on campus! I researched where I could get t-shirts screen-printed, designed a logo (after hours at work on one of the Macs), and headed to Brooklyn to meet with Chrissy—who was just the woman to get the job done!

I received the official merch for the SISM FASHION collection. The only thing missing was the visuals to match.

I had a vision to merge 80’s street style, art, and Harajuku girl vibes.

Creative Direction Notes:

  1. Choose an era/moment in time that inspires you

  2. Select location(s) that highlight that era/time period

  3. Style your look(s)/outfit(s) to align with the overall feel of the environment (and vision) you’re creating

  4. Be resourceful and work with what you have

Choose an era/moment in time that inspires you - 80’s street style, art (graffiti/street art), Harajuku Girl vibes.

Select location(s) that highlight that era/time period - 5 Pointz, Bryant Park, SoHo.

Style your look(s)/outfit(s) to align with the overall feel of the environment (and vision) you’re creating - colorful, vibrant, daring options.

Be resourceful and work with what you have - connect with people in my network and work with emerging creatives.

Let’s go behind the scenes!
