Shawn Outen Co-Hosts Sunday School At Hotel Americano (NYC)

A few months back I had the pleasure of interviewing model/visual artist Shawn Outen via Chattin’ With LDN.

He was hosting an event and nudged me to attend.

I woke up (the day of the event), looked outside, saw the sun shining, and knew it was boasting to be a good day!

I had no other plans and thought “it was the perfect opportunity to show my support and solidarity” at Shawn’s event.

I tried to be low-key and go unnoticed. My attempt failed, when he recognized me, holding a Polaroid camera; ready to snap!

Shawn was a modest host—introducing me to his friends and offering me a drink.

It was boiling hot, the pool was empty, with only a few feet boomeranging in and out of it.

I got changed (yes, my bikini was stuffed in my clutch), asked one of the hotel staff for a towel, and walked out in my bikini.

I wasn’t going to just burn up and miss out on the opportunity to, have a dip, and live in the moment.

Before I knew it, Shawn flung his top off, and some more of his guests joined us in the pool.

We had a blast!
